about us

It’s not often you hear of a local, not-for-profit charity manages to continue for forty years. When The Footmen were first formalised in 1976, its financial aim was to raise funds to purchase goods and distribute them to disadvantaged people in the local area. Now, 40 years on, Footmen continues through a group of men and women from diverse backgrounds who form The Footmen Foundation, jointly organising annual fundraising events in supporting the needs of local individuals and charities.

These fundraisers offer excellent opportunities for philanthropic individuals to join with like minded businesses and local government organisations and agencies to support those less fortunate in our community. We are an informal group with few rules and regulations. Our expectation is that you will support the Foundation and its fundraising initiatives and have fun at the same time!

Over the past 4 years, The Footmen Foundation events have raised approximately $120,000. Every dollar that we raise goes in direct support of local individuals in need and local community support agencies mainly within the City of Maroondah and the Shire of Yarra Ranges, usually when assistance is not available from other sources. We are often the last line of possible help.
